COVID-19 Spring Booster Vaccination

Posted by: devon - Posted on:

The NHS is offering the COVID-19 vaccine to those at highest risk from severe illness. Evidence suggests that the immunity from Covid vaccines wears off after 6 months in those over 75 years of age and severe immunosuppression. The current spring booster is only for over 75s and those who are severely immunosupressed.

  • Adults aged 75 years and over
  • Residents in a care home for registered older adults
  • Individuals aged 6 months and over who are severely immunosuppressed.

How to Book

If you’re eligible for a vaccination this spring you will receive a text message, email, NHS App message or letter from the NHS when it’s your turn to come forward:

  1. The NHS website
  2. Call 119 for free.

Please do not ring the practice and use the above avenues to access appointments if eligible. Any queries can be dealt with when you attend the vaccination centre before vaccination.

What if I am housebound?

If you have previously been offered the vaccination by our district nurses, you will be contacted again for your vaccination if eligible. You do not need to contact us to book this. Please note that if you are able to get into a car and can attend the practice car park you will receive your vaccination sooner and your vaccination can be facilitated.

Our car park has restricted Parking. Please avoid bringing your cars to site and stick to appointment times to avoid congestion.
